Laia Rius is a singer, violinist and composer from Barcelona. She combines her various artistic facets in some musical projects and theatre shows.
She began her professional career in 2003 as a singer-actress of Dagoll Dagom’s musical La Perritxola. Subsequently she became a member of the orchestra in some other musicals such as Mar i Cel, Mikado and Cabaret. Later, she played in the music band of the emblematic theatre in Barcelona, El Molino, during the first two years after its reopening in October 2010.
Since 2008 she has been a singer-actress in a play for children called El col·leccionista de paisatges produced by Fundació «la Caixa». Besides, she plays since 2014 in the contemporary circus show Rudo (Manolo Alcantara Company), which has been awarded for the best circus show in Umore Azoka 2014, Zirkòlika awards 2014 and Fetén 2015.
Since 2004 she is a member of the musical group Túrnez i Sesé. She has recorded with them the next albums: L’arbre de l’esperança, Sol Blanc, Romanços i estampes del 21 and Vestigis.
She has also collaborated as a violinist and as a singer with other artists, such as Joan Isaac, Sanjosex & Belda, Clara Peya, Albert Fibla, Josep Maria Ribelles and Xavi Túrnez.
Vinc d’un cel blau (Temps Record, 2017) is her first solo album. It is her most personal musical project and she appears there as a composer, arranger, singer and violinist.
